Determining Network I/O Control requirements

To use NIOC v3 you need at least vSphere 6.0 and of course vDS. In order to have vDS, you need an Enterprise Plus edition, or a product (such as NSX) that adds a distributed switches feature.

SR-IOV is not available for virtual machines configured to use Network I/O Control version 3.
