Control VMware Tools installation

VMware Tools installation and upgrade is performed by using the virtual CD/DVD drive. This means that, without it, you cannot perform those operations from the vSphere Web Client.

Another option for disabling VMware Tools installation is to change the role and remove the privilege required to install VMware Tools (Virtual machine .Interaction.VMware Tools install).

Note that both tricks do not work with standalone VMware Tools if they are installed from the binaries files in the guest OS.
